Workforce Development:

Affordable Housing / Financial Literacy:

Housing/Financial Literacy program for homeless and housing-insecure veterans and low income families is designed to provide safe and affordable housing options for some of the most vulnerable members of society. This program is aimed at veterans who have served in the military and are experiencing homelessness, as well as low income families who are struggling to find stable and safe housing.

The program offers a range of services, including:

Emergency shelter: This component of the program provides immediate and temporary shelter to veterans and families who are homeless or in imminent danger of becoming homeless.

Permanent housing: The program provides permanent housing options for veterans and families who need long-term support to achieve stability. This may include rental subsidies, supportive services, and case management.

Case management: This component of the program provides individualized support to veterans and families, including help with accessing benefits, finding employment, and connecting to community resources.

Rapid re-housing: This component of the program helps veterans and families who are temporarily homeless to quickly return to stable housing by providing financial assistance and supportive services.

Financial Education: Each participant received a four-hour financial education workshop which focuses on; understanding money, fundamentals of savings, and credit building.

The program is designed to be comprehensive, flexible, and responsive to the unique needs of each participant. By providing a range of services, the program is able to meet the complex and often interrelated needs of veterans and families who are struggling with homelessness and housing insecurity.

The ultimate goal of this program is to end homelessness among veterans and low income families, and to help participants achieve stability and independence through safe and affordable housing.

Youth Entrepreneurship:

The Program Name is a GCDC 6-week Training program aimed at promoting entrepreneurship for teens in underserved communities. (Program Name) is part of GCDC’s overarching small Business development strategy designed to empower young entrepreneurs from low-to-moderate income backgrounds to create and grow job-creating businesses, as well as to pursue higher education and career endeavors. Participants complete three modules: 1) Business Basics; Leadership, and Business Idea Development. Each class culminates in a pitch competition event where finalists present their business ideas to a panel of business leaders for a chance to win a start-up grant up to $1,000 along with tuition-assistance grants for students seeking higher education.

Youth ST.E.A.M. Education:

The (Name of Program) consists of three Cohorts totaling 75 youth students who learn engineering-based concepts that directly drive academic improvements in Math and Science along with S.T.E.A.M. career interest and proficiency. Programs include one or more of our STEM programs: “Computer Animation Design,” LMI Middle and High School participants learn to design and build their own functional video game while discovering the science behind them including Python coding and other technologies. The second group of participants focused on “Computer Animation Art” which involves creating a unique animated story (film) using the KRITA software which enables participants to translate drawings into animated code. Summer Youth Enrichment Camps (Summer) is a four-week summer camp that focuses on holistic enrichment of Middle to High School students while building STEAM academic and hands-on skills. This program includes “A” for arts including music, film, photography, etc. Rocket Club is a Four-week program ((held in the Fall) – it consists of a Hybrid” format (online classroom and finale rocket launch event in the desert). This program provides access to the illusive world of space and rocket science allowing them to safely create a flying rocket while receiving an opportunity to earn a certified membership card to the National Association of Rocketry!
