Meet Rev. Samuel E. Badger
Samuel Earl Badger is the founder and CEO of the Galilee Baptist Church Community Development Corporations. Pastor Badgers serves as the Senior Pastor of the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California. In this role, Samuel provides spiritual, pastoral, outreach, administrative, and servant leadership to the congregation to fulfill their mission as a light of Christ in South Central Los Angeles, CA. Pastor Badger is the Executive Director of the recently established Galilee Community Development Corporation.
Before accepting a call to the ministry at Galilee Baptist Church in April 2022, Pastor Badger served as the Senior Pastor of the First Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Wimauma, Fl., a suburb of Tampa, FL, for five years. While serving as a pastor in Florida, Pastor Badger received a fellowship from the Allegany Franciscan Ministries as a fellow in the 2021 Fellowship for the Common Good Initiative and a member and Vice President of the Men's Health of Sun City Center, Florida. Mr. Badger was recently nominated and added to Strathmore's Who's Who Global Network for Outstanding Professional and Academic Achievements and awarded the Breakfast for the Soul 2022 Wimauma Champion Award for community support.
Pastor Badger is the fifth child of seven boys born to Napoleon and Clara Badger in Midland, TX., and the second son to lead in a ministerial position as a pastor. In his early childhood, Samuel was a music minister for the Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Midland, TX. Pastor Badger is the husband of Deloris Elaine Badger and the parents of one daughter, Ciji Townsends of Atlanta, GA. Samuel and Elaine welcomed their first grandchild in October 2022
Samuel earned a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Grand Canyon University and is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership, emphasizing Christian Ministry - Qualitative.
Samuel's long-term research interests include understanding ways to bridge the gap between education and the Black Church in the Christian community, ethical dilemmas, stewardship, and integrating doctoral training in a Christian context. Mr. Badger's dissertation aims to conduct qualitative descriptive research to understand how pastors influence leadership in the Black Church using the Authentic Leadership Model created by Bill George.
